Audience

This course is for experienced operators used to larger enterprise systems. This course would be especially suitable for experienced z/OS operators who now also have to provide operations cover and support assistance of Solaris-based systems.

Prerequisites

Attendees should have a good basic understanding of operations for another major operating system in an enterprise environment. No prior knowledge of UNIX is required.

Duration

3 days. Hands on.

Course Objectives

This course will provide delegates with the self sufficiency and confidence to operate and help support a Sun Solaris based system. It will also provide a firm base on which more advanced system administration training can be based. On completion of the course delegates will be able to:

  • Cope satisfactorily with the daily operations of a multi-user Sun Solaris site.
  • Interface to other support functions such as system administrators, server support or help desks.
