Course Objectives

This is a workshop addressing the needs and concerns of senior managers in being a sponsor of a project. It will explore the relationship between accountability for success and demands on the sponsor’s time.

Attendees will identify their issues before the workshop which will be tailored to the specific needs of the attendees in their organisation.

On completion of the course delegates will be able to:
  • Understand the difference between control and management of a project.
  • Plan how to control a project.
  • Manage the challenges of sponsorship.
  • Take on the responsibilities of a sponsor.

Course Content

Our facilitator will work with the attendees prior to the workshop to understand their specific issues and needs. The workshop will be tailored to address these issues and needs in a framework of best practice in Project Sponsorship. This is a facilitated workshop led by an experienced professional.

  • How can I best use my time as a sponsor?
  • What should the project manager be doing to support me?
  • What are the levers of control that I have over a project and its manager?
  • What is success in a project and how can I be successful as a sponsor?
  • How does the Project Board work?
  • How should I use the Business Case in a project?
