Audience

This course will be of interest to anyone involved with analysing and resolving problems with IBM (or third party) products in the z/OS, CICS, IMS, Network or related areas.

Prerequisites

No previous IPCS experience is required. Familiarity with the z/OS operating system and the concepts of control blocks would be useful.

3 days. Hands on.

Course Objectives

This class provides students with comprehensive practical knowledge in using the Interactive Problem Control System to gather rapidly pertinent problem analysis data. The class discusses the IPCS techniques needed to analyse both SVC dumps and Standalone dumps and communicate effectively with IBM and other vendors support staff. Extensive hands on exercises allow the student to understand the content and context of dumps and reinforce the formal methodology that is central to the class.
