Audience

i (System i , i5, iSeries and AS/400) programmers.

Prerequisites

Attendees should have at least a knowledge of the system by attending the Introduction to iSeries or have equivalent experience.

Duration

1 or 2 days (depending on level of detail required)

Course Objectives

The course introduces the programmer to Websphere Development Studio Client (WDSC) (or Rational Developer for i) and Cooperative Development Environment (CODE) - the GUI replacements for Programmer Development Manager (PDM). For application developers these tools provide a complete new development environment which allows for a faster (and easier to use) means of developing and maintaining applications. After completing the course you will be able to:

  • Take advantage of productivity gains from using new functions in the WDSC/RDi and CODE GUI environments.
  • Off-load development work to the PC environment and work disconnected from your i (System i , i5, iSeries and AS/400).
  • Use WDSC/RDi and CODE for both legacy and leading edge languages.
