iSeries/i5 Operations

Audience

This course is for new System Operators to develop the basic skills needed for day-to-day operations of the iSeries/i5. Most lectures sessions are followed by fully guided hands-on exercises to reinforce and build the student's confidence.

Prerequisites

Successful completion of our Introduction to the iSeries/i5 or equivalent is useful, but not an essential pre-requisite.

3 days. Hands on.

Course Objectives

This course is designed to develop your i (System i, i5, iSeries and AS/400) System Operations skills. There are extensive hands-on exercises. Both 5250 and iSeries Navigator are used on the course.

On completion the student will be able to: Use system displays, menus, commands, iSeries Navigator and Help, control batch and print jobs and handle common problems.
