Experienced iSeries Operations and Technical Support staff.

Prerequisites

Substantial knowledge of iSeries Operations and Technical Support is expected. Attending our iSeries/i5 Operations and iSeries Advanced Operations is highly recommended.

Course Objectives

This is a course that teaches basic system performance analysis and tuning and capacity planning using the IBM tool BEST/1. On completion of this course the student will be able to:

• Use the Performance Tools to monitor and analyse system performance
• Manage the flow of work
• Tune performance using Pools, Activity levels and System Values
• Use the BEST/1 Capacity Planning tool to determine what size of hardware is required to support a certain workload
